Moorings in Niue
The moorings in Niue
There were 8 moorings available when we were there.  I received a newsletter from the Niue Yacht Club saying that they have increased that to 12.
There is only a very small sandy patch that will allow 1 boat to anchor in about 85 feet of water and not the best holding.

Niue - Cargo ship unloading
The cargo ship that comes by ever month or so with provisions
Before this ship arrived they were desperately short of flour, potatoes, ice-cream and a couple of other things.  We chatted with the Captain of the ship when he was still a few hours out and told him of the shortages.  His answer was "Well, we have the potatoes and flour, etc. but well... it was hot, and we ate all the ice-cream".   Of course he was kidding.  But as we were to find out at the Yacht Club they are never short of beer or rum!
