Palmerston - The Original William "Bill" Masters House

What you see here is the original William "Bill" Masters house. The house is built from the ships timbers and driftwood found around the shores of the island at the time of his landing.
The house is used mainly for storage these days. No one has lived in it for many years. It stands strong and proud as a testament of William Masters, his stamina, and to the endurance of his family, and more importantly, his beliefs. It also serves as a museum of sorts in the construction of ships and buildings of the time. There is not s single screw or nail holding this building together. That is except the new corrugated iron roof they laid on top of the original (still underneath it) one. You can see the original wood roof in one of the pictures below (2nd & 3rd inside views of the house). It's held together with simple fine woodworking craftsmanship.
