To have Eyebrows or not? That is the question. Well eyerbows on newer sail
boats don't exist and on older GF (glass fiber) boats they are redundent. The
original purpose was to keep any running water away from the port holes. Since
the newer port holes have built in drainage systems the eyebrow no longer serves any
purpose excet it looks good! Hence I have removed the eyebrows from either side
of the cabin top. This also gets rid of on any change of leakes from the
many screws
holding the eyebrow in place. They were also made of teak which needed
constent maintenance and upkeeping. Mine were showing there age and
getting almost too thin to varnish anymore, the screw stops were starting to
fall out. |
