  Cruise '97 - Weatherfaxes

I have gathered some of the weatherfaxes from during my adventure of sailing acrosss the South Pacific on Cruise '97.  Some are rather ordinary but some show the enormity of the pacific as you will see several hurricanes (Cyclone's).  This was how I made all my decission of when to and where to go at any given time.  Weatherfaxes are available every 6 or 12 hours from several sources depending on where you are in the Pacific.  Eastern Pacific - Point Reyes / Central Pacific - Hawaii / Western Pacific - New Zealand & Nadi, Fiji.  Some of the images are very poor but I have included them by way of examples showing what you might be in for and that nothing is 100% all the time.

Some of the faxes are distorted and will help you understand what we went through in trying to get and analyze weatherfaxes.  The software I was using at the time, Weatherfax for '98, is no longer available.  It been bought up by the company which owns "The Capn'" software package and burried it.  I believe because it was too good and a fraction of the cost of The Capn, which I tried and found too cumbersom and difficult to use even on a daily basis.  Fortunatly for me, except for a message that the 5 year model has expired, it seems to still work very well!
