Okay, so here is the "After" section of the paing job. What you see below is
what Mouse Pad's bum looks like after it has been painted and new zincs and
everything else it takes when putting a fresh coat of bottom paint on a sail
boat. For this job I chose Interlux Z-Spar B90 Red paint with a copper oxide
content of 80%. That will peeve off most environmentalists BUT it keeps Mouse
Pad's bum nice and clean and protected against grown of all sorts of grasses and
animals. After preping teh hull we painted 2 overall coats then we went back
and put on 2 more coats along the water line (down about 12-18 inches) as well
as 2 coats along the leading edge and bottom of the keel, bow, skeg and rudder. |
