A visit to Tony & Ronda's house up the California Coast (2009)
I recenty took a few days off from life and decided to drive the 300 or so miles from Ventura, Ca. up to Monterey, Ca. to visit with Tony and Ronda my old dock mates.
I decided on the longer but much more picturesque route of Highway 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). It was well worth the extra time and milage for all the wonderful views and vistas along the way. If you should get teh chance take it as you will be rewarded with views that you can only see in Central California.
The first few photos are of Tony and Ronda's new house. When they bought the house a year and a half back in the begining of 2008 it had been stripped by the previouse owner and abandond. Stipped to the point where they had taken all the doors, light fixtures, etc off even the paving stones out of the back yard. So before they could move in they had to do some serious renovating. The interior of the house is now completed and the back yard is about half done. The first couple of photos is of all the work Tony has got done so far with the great terraces an arbor and teh unfinished area. He has started to plant Pom-Pom trees everywhere and lots of vegetables on the terraces. The front yard is coming along well too with trees and bushes everywere and more plants to come. If you should run into Tony ask him about the placement of his Mail Box and the postman?
Tony took me on an excersion to visit Carmel, the mission and the beach along with all the multi-million dollar homes.
On my drive back I stopped at several places to take photos of the wonderful views and vistas of the Central Coast. Including the Sea Lion colony, Morro Bay and others. I hope you enjoy the wonderful sights as much as I did driving the 6 hours of great sights of the Pacific Ocean.
