YachtLog3 Alpha Release will be ready for release to testers by Monday, March 9th, 2010.

For those boaters who wish to become a part of the testing group please send me an email with the following information (so I can get a bettor idea of the boating groups testing YachtLog3) Name, Email address, Boat type (sail Power), Type of boat usage (day trips, overnighters, blue water cruising, coastal cruising, etc.). 

There are two (2) ways to become a "Tester" (1) click on the "Contact Me" menu above then enter "YachtLog3 Alpha Tester Request" in the subject line plus the information requested above in teh body of the email, or (2) send me an email and put "YachtLog3 Alpha Tester Request" in the subject line then add the information requested above in the body of the email.  NO INFORMATION WILL BE SHARED WITH ANY OTHER ENTITIES.

What to expect with the Alpha release?
You can expect to see all the screens/forms load correctly.  That is all the screens will be completed and ready for testers to pass opinions on.  Your opinions should include the placement of items on the screen/form, color schemes, general Look & Feel.  It is very important that you also suggest any data item(s) which you feel are missing from any screen/form.  Some aesthetics and column data in grids are incomplete or over populated in expectation of testers providing suggestions and input.

What is "basic Functionality"? 
That is all of the grids, combo boxes. list boxes, and containers should load and function as expected.  Some of these components will continue to contain additional columns of unwanted data during the testing periods until it is locked down during the Beta period by tester input.

YachtLog3 comes with a database which contains all the data required to test the screens/forms for functionality and placement etc.

NOTE:
During the Alpha testing period the accuracy of the data is not in question, it is there just to give testers a better feel for the functionality of the application.  Accuracy of the data will come into question when the Beta release is ready and made available.

NO DATA WILL SAVE, DELETE, OR UPDATE ON THE FORMS.
