Bay of Islands - We made it!

Well we finally got here. After over 8 months of sailing around many wonderful islands and atolls and some of the most wonderful people you can ever hope to meet and seeing the most incredible sunsets you can ever imagine. We are here in New Zealand.

Our first sight of land since leaving the Kingdom of Tonga.... the sun rising over one of the outlying islands

After checking in with Customs and all the other formalities we decide to stay and relax for a few days until we head South for Auckland.

One of the first chores for the tech heads was to get together and compare laptops.
WHY? I have no idea, and it got the women very upset to!

Mouse Pad headed South to Tutukaka to pick my nephew Paul. My sister had immigrated to New Zealand not long after I went to the United States. Paul is a local Navel Architect amongst other things and his local knowledge would help immensely. It was also great to see him since I had not seen this part of my family in many years. Since I was down under touring as stage manager for John Denver in 1979! Apart from a quick trip sis made to Los Angeles in there somewhere.

Anyway, these are a few on the wonderful sights that are to bee seen on the way out of the Bay of Islands and on the way South.

My nephew Paul came up to join us in Tutukaka harbor for the sail back down to Gulf Harbor.

We stopped at a couple of island on the way down. Paul did some fishing and caught a great appetizer! I don't know were the ducks came from but we couldn't get rid of them until we left the island and headed for our final destination... Arkles Bay, Whangaparaoa.
